NOTICE OF A SPECIAL MEETING

OF THE TSS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The TSS Board of Directors will meet at 6:00 PM on Monday, May 12^th, 2008 at a special meeting which will be open to all members.

The agenda and discussion of this meeting shall be to review and discuss long range planning.  The goal for this meeting is to establish an outline and direction for long range plans at TSS.    

 The notice of the special meeting is given pursuant to Bylaws Article V, Meetings, Paragraphs 6.0 – 6.4.  In accordance with Section 6.4, the minutes of the special meeting will be read at the next regularly scheduled membership and Board meetings and a summary of the subject and outcome of the special Board meeting will be published in the Lighthouse newsletter and in a secure section of the website.

Dave Perry at Tampa Sailing Squadron

 

Sponsored by Mount Gay, Harken and U.S. Sailing the presentations got off to a lively start with fresh rum drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Matt and Ed welcomed Dave to the club. Dave wasn't new to the club, he'd actually been there before as an eighteen year old Laser sailor.

Dave captivated the audience with his video clips from the America's Cup race and his running commentary on technique and rules. He amazed everyone with the computer simulations that easily demonstrated boat positions and tactics. It made it all very clear to everyone what was happening and why. If you were there, you learned a great deal. If you weren't there, look out for these people at the next race. They've seen how it is done and they're ready to do it to you!
