Gay, Harken and U.S. Sailing the presentations got off to a lively start
with fresh rum drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Matt and Ed welcomed Dave to
the club. Dave wasn't new to the club, he'd actually been there before
as an eighteen year old Laser sailor.

Dave captivated the
audience with his video clips from the America's Cup race and his running
commentary on technique and rules. He amazed everyone with the computer
simulations that easily demonstrated boat positions and tactics. It made
it all very clear to everyone what was happening and why. If you were
there, you learned a great deal. If you weren't there, look out for these
people at the next race. They've seen how it is done and they're ready to
do it to you!
